Roderick Coleman SR, LADC

STOP Program Lecturer (Men’s Program) – Domestic Violence Education

With over 20 years of experience in behavioral health and substance use treatment, Roderick Coleman Sr. brings deep insight, structure, and compassion to his role as a lecturer in the STOP Program at Awaken Recovery Center. As a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), Roderick is committed to helping individuals take accountability, break harmful patterns, and build healthier relationships.

His background includes extensive work within the prison system, where he provided trauma-informed counseling to justice-involved individuals navigating complex behavioral and relational challenges. Roderick’s approach is grounded in empathy, cultural responsiveness, and a belief in every person’s capacity for change.

At Awaken Recovery Center, Roderick facilitates domestic violence education with a focus on emotional regulation, nonviolent communication, and long-term behavior change—ensuring each participant is supported with dignity and respect.

Jacqueline Coleman, LICSW

Therapist & Domestic Violence Facilitator (Women’s Program) – Trauma Recovery & Integrated Care

Jacqueline Coleman is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through trauma recovery, emotional healing, and behavioral change. She brings a compassionate, culturally responsive approach to her role as a domestic violence facilitator at Awaken Recovery Center.

Jacqueline’s clinical work is grounded in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is also trained in Mama Umoja Butu, a culturally affirming parenting model that promotes secure attachment and emotional connection between mothers and their babies—an approach she integrates into her work with families and survivors of intergenerational trauma.

Her facilitation style is rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and a deep respect for each client’s lived experience. Jacqueline specializes in helping individuals impacted by systemic oppression, relational harm, and emotional dysregulation rebuild their sense of safety, accountability, and self-worth.
